History of Decimal Gold Coins
Pictures of Post-1971 Gold and Silver Bullion Coins

It is stressed that the following prices are a guide only, and in UK pounds. I can take no personal responsibility for their accuracy, although every effort has been made to ensure that they have been copied correctly.

The information has generally been taken from the UK monthly magazine Coin News, and is reproduced by the kind permission of
Token Publishing Ltd, 40 Southernhay East, Exeter, EX1 1PE

Coins of lower condition than BU have not been listed. Prices of coins dated 2009 are as available from the Royal Mint, but St.George reverse 2 and 5 pound coins are usually only available as part of sets.

Please note that the values of modern gold coins are very dependent on gold bullion prices, and since the figures below were published, values have risen significantly higher. They merely give a guide to the differential between various dates and quality (proof or otherwise). More recent bullion values may be available on my Bullion Value page.
